Social Media Marketing Strategies with YouTube

We just returned from an AWESOME social media conference in beautiful San Diego, CA. One of the most powerful tools I took away from the conference was YouTube. Statistics will tell you that YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine behind Google (who incidentally owns YouTube). But when you search on Google, YouTube videos show up. When you search on YouTube ONLY YouTube shows up.

So who’s the largest search engine?

Online video marketing is extremely powerful, but many businesses are intimidated by creating online videos. Bottom line is that YouTube viewers aren’t looking for the next Emmy award winning video! Many searchers are looking for content not special effects.

Online video is a great avenue to establish your business as an authority in your field by providing valuable content. The key is to know what your prospects are searching for and positioning your company to be found. Once they find you, give them valuable information, and the relationship building begins.

In order to be found, your video title and description must be loaded with keywords (words that searchers use when seeking information about your company’s products or services). You also need a way to capture leads, so give them a compelling call to action at the end of the video.
